Centenarian Society

Centenarian Society of Boston

The Centenarian Society of Boston was founded and celebrated by Central Boston Elder Services in 2011. Members are announced during Older American’s Month in May of each year. Induction into the Society is the highest honor the Agency can award its elders. It recognizes their longevity and courageous spirit as they age in place in the communities we serve.

Each member of the society has lived at least 100 years  and is currently living at home in the community and receives in-home care services provided through the Executive Office of Elder Affairs. This is a requirement before one can be nominated for this award and acknowledgement.

All of the inductees reside in the service area of Central Boston Elder Services which includes Roxbury, North Dorchester, North Jamaica Plain, Mission Hill, South End, Allston, Brighton, Fenway and the Back Bay.
